About This Workshop

Experiences shape and influence the early wiring of the brain and body system which influences all aspects of emotional, social, cognitive, and physiologic functioning. The experience of traumatic stress can create impairment within a child’s body mind system with the capacity for influence throughout the lifespan. Such experiences often get diagnosed in children as reactive attachment disorder.

Treating or parenting children with severe behaviors often leaves us feeling hopeless and helpless.  These one or two day workshops will examine closely the latest neuroscientific findings regarding the brain, creating a clear understanding for how trauma within any family member can create potentially traumatic experiencing for all of the family as well as offer specific strategies for increasing affect regulation and peace in our offices and homes.

Coaching for Life, LLC and Juli Alvarado offer hope based on a revolutionary model for understanding and treating severe behaviors in traumatized children.  It is most often these behaviors and our inability to understand and treat them that lead to failed placements in child welfare and more parents and professionals continue to feel like they too, are failures.

About the Speaker

Juli Alvarado is an internationally sought after relationship expert, life coach, trainer and consultant in mental health and child welfare.  She is expert in the areas of trauma informed care, foster care, care for the caretaker and attachment. 

Juli has been providing consultation to state departments of human services, private and public sector child welfare and mental health agencies and programs for more than two decades.  Her first- hand expert and personal knowledge of the impact of trauma on the individual, collective group and executive levels combine to create a training that is incredibly motivational, inspirational and educational!
